To soak or not to soak... that is the question.
Since we introduced towels into the shop we’ve witnessed numerous debates regarding whether towels should be washed before first use and if so, how they should be laundered. For the record, I didn’t wash my white Enfant Vilain bath sheet (I admit, I couldn’t wait) and it’s better than ever, but it seems there are just as many washing techniques for towels that people swear by, as there are ways for making "perfect" poached eggs…

We’ve already been warned against washing towels with fabric softener because it apparently makes the towels less absorbent. Our good friend (and towel aficionado) Janet has offered some sage advice for ensuring you get the best out of your bathroom accessories:
“After years of washing linen, I have found that the best way to care for towels & bath robes is to soak in the washing machine overnight in cold water, then wash as normal. I did this straight away with your products & they are great. No need for softeners & they stay soft & fluffy for a long time.”
Think you’ve got a better technique for washing your towels? We’d love to hear about it… Write a comment on this post or send me an email – megan@enfantvilain.com.

I too had been searching for the ultimate 'soft and fluffy" technique when it came to washing my towels and have found what I think is the best solution, I wash my towels (incidentally I have a front loader which not only saves on water but also wear and tear on clothes etc) using an eco friendly powder and fill my conditioner dispenser with white vinegar then dry on the line the results are fantastic even with not so new towels and there is no vinegar smell.
added benefit is the vinegar helps to clean machine of soap and conditioner scum as well, try it you wont be disappointed.
